The U.S. women’s 4x100 meter relay team, consisting of Bianca Knight, Allyson Felix, Tianna Madison and Carmelita Jeter, won gold today and set a new world record.
For those who like math, their new world record of 40.82 means that each of them ran an average of 10.205.
Claressa Shields wins the GOLD! The teenaged (17) Flint, Michigan native is the first American woman to win a gold medal for USA women’s boxing! She beat Nadezda Torlopova of Russia 19-12, to win in the middleweight division. She’s the second-youngest fighter to win gold in either men’s or women’s boxing.
I wonder if they did a public school vs. private school comparison when looking at the food…. I feel like that may make a difference. The lunch on the bottom looks good though!
Turns out elementary school lunches in the most and least obese counties in the nation look exactly as you’d expect. The lunch on top hails from America’s obesity capital: Greene County, Alabama. The one below — the one that looks like a nutrition ad — is from Routt County, Colorado, the fittest county in the U.S.

This article is so interesting because I always consider myself “Black” as opposed to African-American. I hate the idea of stripping first generation African-Americans etc of their heritage; However, I never knew when, why, or how the term African-American was coined.
