Whether you see it or not I just saw this commercial for makeup where Beyonce breaks down her Background into Native American, African American, and French, and it made me think. Being black doesn’t make you cultureless. In fact its a mixing of different cultures that lots of people don’t acknowledge. Being black racially is to be both African and White, maybe native American. Being black socially?? That’s a whole other conversation. But maybe her breakdown (or anyone’s) should have been African, Native American, and French, or maybe it shouldn’t have. Idk I’m just a little annoyed with, this whole idea that Black people aren’t a mixed people. We just haven’t had our history saved
